Future rings by mark sengbusch

The sculptural wall shelf by Mark Sengbusch is the first of a series of editioned sculptures loosely based on traditional Japanese wood joinery. Future Rings operated as a rotating library where patrons are encouraged to give a book, take a book throughout the duration of the installation. For the opening, the shelf was stocked with 50 Sci-Fi books, which will naturally evolve into a new kind of collection. The work thus becomes an interactive time based sculpture.
